FAQ's
1. What type of insurance does this site provide?
It provides all risks insurance in the event of loss of or damage to your property whilst in the course of the removal &/or whilst in storage depending upon the cover purchased. Full details of the cover available are shown in the policy terms set out on the site.
2. How do I apply for cover if I am a remover?
Availability to access the site needs to be arranged through Specialist Insurance Brokers Limited (SIB) who can be contacted by clicking the email link here
3. How much will the insurance cost?
The applicable premiums are shown within the website under "Premiums". This information is also provided in Specialist Insurance Broker's brochure.
4. How can I pay for the Insurance?
At the present time payment must be by cheque made payable to Specialist Insurance Brokers Limited. This may be returned to the remover, along with your acceptance of their removal quotation, who will arrange for forwarding to SIB.
5. If I am happy with the insurance offered how do I arrange it?
Complete the Letter of Acceptance which may be returned to your remover with a cheque following the procedure outlined under "How can I pay for the Insurance".
6. Who are the Insurers?
The Insurers are 100% Enterprise Insurance Company Plc.
Enterprise Insurance Company Plc is regulated by the Financial Services Commission in Gibraltar (www.fsc.gi) and is licensed by the Commissioner of Insurance under the Insurance Company Ordinance to carry on insurance business in Gibraltar.
On the 11th June 1997, the Government of Gibraltar announced the UK Government's agreement that Gibraltar's supervisory regime for insurance matched standards of supervision in the UK. This meant that Gibraltar licensed insurers were able to cover risks in both the UK and other Member European States without having to seek a separate licence to do so. The FSC keeps abreast of legislative and regulatory developments in the UK in order to ensure that the Gibraltar insurance supervisory standards continue to match those of the UK.
The management and solvency are supervised by the Financial Services Commission in Gibraltar and you will be protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme if the Insurer is unable to meet its liabilities to you.

7. Is SIB authorised by the Financial Services Authority (FSA)?
Yes, the company has received formal authority to trade in this class of insurance.

8. If I don't buy insurance what protection do I have in the event of damage to my property?
Unless the remover accepts that he caused the damage you would have to pursue a claim against the remover through the courts to prove negligence or accept settlement from the remover under their Standard Trading Conditions which would have been provided to you at the time an estimate was given for the job.
9. What do I do if I want to insure something that is outside the site territorial limits, or a higher Sum Insured than the policy limit or is shown as an excluded interest?

10. If, after buying the insurance, I have to rearrange my moving date will this void my insurance?
No. Once a revised removal date has been arranged with the remover a new Certificate of Insurance will be issued.
11. If I have purchased storage cover and need to extend it, how do I do so?

12. I am already a participating remover. If I can not access the Internet insurance site or access the system and I need to insure a shipment, what should I do?
Please contact us to discuss your access. You can email SIB by clicking the email link here. In the unlikely event that the site is unavailable, please email or fax us the details of the move and enter the details on site once the site is working again.
13. What do I do if I have a policy and need to make a claim?
In the first instance always contact your remover as the matter may be resolvable without the necessity for a claim to be made. If not, the remover will arrange for SIB to forward a claim form to you.
14. If I have any other queries relating to the insurance which are not answered by reference to the site who can I contact?
